Peyton and Eli Manning Star in 'ManningCast: The Musical'
First up, this rare football-Broadway crossover sees former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning decked out in sequins, tap dancing with canes, and actually singing. Other highlights of this unusually well-produced 10-minute promo include a list of cameos that’s too good to spoil and a show-stopping finale written by Tom Kitt, composer of Next to Normal and If/Then.
(Another) Top Five Opening Numbers (Know the Score)
A musical’s opening number can undoubtedly make or break it, and the attention of an audience isn’t easily regained once lost. You may be surprised which two successful shows replaced their lackluster openers with songs that entertain and explain, providing much-needed propulsion for their storyline. Diva from Musical Hell has the scoop!
How to Figure out your CASTING TYPE
How can you, as an aspiring actor or actress, figure out how audition panels see you? Our next video by Katherine Steele reveals simple ways to understand your casting type, enabling you to audition for roles more aligned with your unique personality.
Is Broadway Actually Recovering? Katharine Quinn, social media manager for The Great Gatsby, pulls back the curtain on Broadway’s finances as we continue along the post-Covid journey to thriving shows and bustling theatres. Her analysis is supported by facts and figures, yes, but also a clear and thoughtful strategy to keep doors open and chorus lines kicking.
Channel spotlight:
Broadway Best Friend’s YouTube channel description reads ‘talking to you about theatre as if we’re good friends’, and that is exactly what the (anonymous) channel brings to offer. Her frank reviews of shows like Oh, Mary! include helpful disclosure of her personal biases, and her awards predictions are engaging and informed. Broadway Best Friend has been posting 2-4 videos a month, which are usually under 20 minutes but can be as long as 40 minutes. Her channel is a hidden gem for Broadway fans who favor sensible, easy-to-listen-to content.
NOTE: StageStreams will be selecting four all-new videos per issue to highlight (in addition to the channel spotlight). If you'd like to ensure your video is included as well, please reach out to our publisher at DavidBenkof@gmail.com for promotional and sponsorship opportunities.
